DEJON HARRIS

October 1, 1992-December 1, 2015

DeJon was a twenty-three-year-old full of life father, son, brother, nephew, and friend that showered  everyone with affection especially his little girl, his little princess! He always had a bug smile that could light up a room! All the love that he had to give was cut short in 20 15 when a gun man shot him down in the parking lot of the apartments where he lived with his family. Ironically, those apartments were right next to the police department which in no way made him any safer from the violence that took his life. DeJon was definitely one of a kind and a reminder that even when you're home, the place you're supposed to be the most safe, crime and violence can always reach any of us! His generosity and bright personality will forever be missed, but never forgotten, by those he loved.

MICHEAL LEON SINGLETON (13)

May 31, 1970-June 14, 2007

13 was a hip hop pioneer in the San Antonio area.  Although he was passionate about music evidenced by founding Platinum Crown Entertainment, he also attended nursing school, advocated and worked with those with mental disabilities, mentored at risk youth, and was known as a peacemaker.  He lived by the role of mentor and peacemaker when a few years prior to his death he was mentoring some youth when an altercation broke out and 13 being true to his nature tried to diffuse the situation and was ultimately shot during the incident. His quick thinking he made a tourniquet from his tie (he was there because he had got off work an hour early so he was still in his work clothes), ironically in the midst of everything he happened to look down at his watch and realized it was the exact time he should have been getting off of work!  He did not let the incident discourage him from doing what he loved, music, mentoring, and being a strong role model for his community.  His sudden death from a heart attack left his family, friends, and fellow members of the entertainment industry in San Antonio with a void that will forever remain in his honor!

JALIL ANDRU STEWART (JSTEW)

May 14, 1998-September 10, 2010

Jalil was the baby for 12 years, until our family grew with the births of Boss and Zaniyah Pryor. He was also a wonderful big brother to Aaquil Hartfield-Stewart, Saayid Stewart, and Ava Stewart. He loved being a big brother to all of his younger siblings. He was always encouraging, supportive, and made sure to let them know how much he loved them.
Around our house Boss and Niyah started calling him by the nick name “I’ll” so much, that we all started call him that, including Jalil. He always watched TV with them and let them sleep with him when they were scared. He embraced the role as a protector since his cousin, Suvannah Moreno had her first child, Da’Vaughn (Dada) Moreno. Especially when his first niece, our first grandchild, was born, Darian Pryor. He was so excited that he was at the hospital every day.
He loved his family and friends. Anyone who was close to Jalil knew that he was funny, loved watching movies especially comedies, and if you decided to get into a cutting session with him you were more than likely gonna loose. He could answer any question about sports, so much so, that we nicknamed him the Sports Almanac. He never stayed mad long no matter how much he tried, because tomorrow he would call and tell you how much he loved you, as one of his best friends, Isis, put it. He was an exceptional basketball player that seemed to get better with every inch he grew taller and yes, he was still growing at 20 years old! Jalil had a wonderful spirit and heart that spread love throughout our family and to his friends. Our family is forever broken and we will never be the same without his long lanky arms wrapped around our necks telling us he loved and appreciated us. I pray he will watch over us from heaven.
